Corporate governance
I believe that one of the most important aspects of a company is its Culture, with a capital C. I discuss this in one of the chapters of my book Liderazgos transformadores , in which I share my personal vision on how to move from simple planning to the combination of Strategy and Culture. Specifically, I argue that Culture must be known, shared, and respected by all stakeholders, including shareholders, employees, suppliers, and financial institutions. And for it to be respected, it is essential that the company exercises good corporate governance.
The work I do with my partners at Addventure is, directly and indirectly, focused on corporate governance. With our CEO+ and CoDir programs, we help senior executives reflect on how they govern their companies and how they can increase their positive impact on society.
I am convinced that good corporate governance begins with oneself, with becoming aware of one’s own presence, the role that each person plays in the company, and what they can contribute to achieving common goals. I like to combine individual and collective work and, ultimately, take a comprehensive approach, looking at the big picture. Addressing the different dimensions of corporate governance is the formula that works best for me in achieving the harmony required for long-term governance, with sustainability and a commitment to leaving a legacy.
